Join the Leo's rota

Great coffee. No egos.

We're building a rota of brilliant speciality baristas across London and the South East, placed at the partner sites closest to them. We're selective about who joins, because every cup carries our name and yours.

Why baristas join us

The craft of an independent, with the reach of a growing team.

Leo's Anywhere runs speciality coffee bars inside offices, showrooms, gyms and venues. You get the pride of working a great bar, without being stuck at one counter or one postcode.

Work close to home

Tell us where you live and when you're free. We give you a home site where we can and cover shifts nearby, so you spend your time behind the bar, not on the train.

Kit worth working on

Best in class machines and grinders, properly maintained, with speciality beans and recipes dialled in. The bar is set up for you to do your best work.

A team behind you

You're never on your own. Our head barista checks in on every site, and there's always someone on the end of the phone when the grinder plays up at 8am.

Room to grow

As we open new sites we need site leads and trainers. We'd much rather promote from our own rota than hire in, so the best people move up quickly.

The Leo's standard

High standards. Generous people.

Our standard is set by our head barista and founder, and it's the same at every site, from our flagship at Camber Sands to a lobby in the City. We look for three things in equal measure.

CRAFT

You know your coffee

  • You dial in espresso every morning and taste as you go
  • Silky, consistent milk and confident latte art
  • Recipes followed to spec, cup after cup
  • A clean, organised bar, even in the rush
HOSPITALITY

You make people's day

  • A real welcome, not a script
  • You remember the regulars and their orders
  • Calm and friendly when the queue is out the door
  • You treat the host's team like your own customers
CHARACTER

You leave the ego at the door

  • ReliableYou turn up on time, every time
  • Team firstYou'll restock the milk without being asked
  • CoachableFeedback makes you better, not defensive
  • Proud, not preciousGreat coffee for everyone, no lectures

We'd rather hire a kind barista with great habits than a brilliant one who makes the bar about them.

Who you'll be working with

A small team that takes coffee seriously, and itself less so.

Leo's started as one bar on the beach at Camber Sands. The team that built it is the team that will train you: people who care about the cup, the customer and each other.

If you've worked in speciality coffee and felt like the standards slipped or the vibe was off, we think you'll like it here.

How we hire

Four steps, and we'll be straight with you at each one.

We keep the process short and fair. If it's not the right fit, we'll tell you quickly and kindly.

Questions baristas ask first

How much experience do I need?

Most of our team have at least a year in speciality coffee. If you have less but your hospitality is brilliant and your coffee foundations are solid, apply and tell us about it.

Is it full time or flexible?

Both. Some of the team work full weeks at one site; others pick up a few shifts around study or other work. You tell us your availability and we build the rota around it.

Will I always work at the same site?

Where we can, we give you a home site so you get to know the regulars. You may also cover nearby sites, always within a reasonable distance of where you live.

What do you pay?

Fair, transparent hourly rates, paid on time, with more for site leads and trainers. We'll talk numbers openly on your first call.

Do I need the right to work in the UK?

Yes. We'll ask to see proof of your right to work before your first shift.
